Top 10 Movies You HAVE TO See!

People who follow me on my social media regularly, know that my blog is mostly about Fashion and Beauty; But recently, I’ve been trying to expand the topics to write about and go into Travel and Lifestyle.

Since I obviously don’t have the opportunity to constantly travel, not matter how much I may want that.. I thought I’d write about Lifestyle which includes stuff like Favourites, Hauls, Recipes, Trends, Movies, etc. etc. etc.
So, we’re going to be talking about movies today..
Since my summer vacations are going on, I’ve been watching A LOT of movies because I literally have nothing to do these days.
I had made a promise to myself to watch all kinds of movies, Hollywood/Bollywood Classics, Romantic Comedies, Thrillers, Dramas, etc. etc.

I’m the kind of person who likes all kind of movies but my favourite genres are – Romantic Dramas, Classics, and sometimes Senseless Comedies, just to have a good laugh!
I thought of listing down my top 10 personal favourite movies and I think you guys should definitely watch it once! Maybe you guys might not like it or find some boring, but these are surely my favourites!

1. Grease

Grease is a Hollywood Romantic Comedy Classic released in the 1970’s starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton John as the lead roles. It was based on Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey’s musical of the same name. Not going to tell you guys anything about the movie, but it is a MUST watch if you just want to cheer yourself up or are into romantic comedies. I like to watch Grease just to drool over John Travolta. Any girl want to agree with me!?

2. Born Free

This is one of those movies that make you believe that where there is love, nothing can ever be forgotten.
I cry every single time I watch Born Free, mainly because of the end which obviously I’m not going to ruin for you guys. The movie is a 1966 British drama film starring Virginia McKenna and Bill Travers as Joy and George Adamson, a real-life couple who raised Elsa the Lioness, an orphaned lion cub, to adulthood, and released her into the wilderness of Kenya.
It’s the most sweetest story I’ve ever seen.

3. The Pursuit Of Happyness

It’s a 2006 American biographical drama film based on entrepreneur Chris Gardner’s nearly one-year struggle being homeless. Directed by Gabriele Muccino, the film features Will Smith as Gardner, a homeless salesman. Smith’s son Jaden Smith co-stars, as Gardner’s son, Christopher Jr.
The Pursuit Of Happyness is a movie that makes you believe that even when you’re at the peak of your breaking point, even when you’re tired of every bad thing that’s happened in your life, if you work hard and have hope, everything will get better soon; There will come a shining bright light at the end of a dark tunnel, that’ll make everything okay.

4. Sholay

I really hope you guys didn’t think that this post was going to be all about Hollywood, right? Because I love Bollywood just as much as the next person!
And Sholay is 100% one of my most loved Bollywood movies. Did you guys know that Sholay ran in movie halls for 25 Years!?
I find it really shocking and hard to believe that some people have actually not seen this classic movie. It’s an amazing thriller based on revenge. Staring in the lead roles are Amitabh Bachan, Dharmendar, Amjad Khan and Sanjeev Kapoor.
We’ve all heard the famous Gabbar Singh dialogues right? They’re all in this movie.
And if you guys haven’t seen Sholay, PLEASE GO SEE IT NOW! I’m not kidding, NOW!

5. Lagaan

No matter how many times you watch this movie, everytime, every single time, you have this rush of patriotism that can’t be explained or expressed because we’ve read so much about the many years of British rule over India.
Directed in 2001, Lagaan is an Indian epic sports-drama film written and directed by Ashutosh Gowariker. Aamir Khan, who was also the producer, stars with Gracy Singh in the lead roles
The film is set in the Victorian period of India’s colonial British Raj. The story revolves around a small village whose inhabitants, burdened by high taxes, find themselves in an extraordinary situation as an arrogant officer challenges them to a game of cricket as a wager to avoid the taxes.

6. Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara

I’m pretty sure most of you who’re reading this post already know or have already watched this movie. If you haven’t, you really should, because as the title says, the movie also shows you how you should seize every moment of everyday if you want to live your life to the fullest, shows you how overcoming your fears can give you such a rush of emotions and a new zest for life.
To us, sometimes it seems like such a huge task to leave our work and just be with our close ones and spend precious time with them.
Because life doesn’t wait for anyone, and you don’t know if you’re getting it again, so might as well live it fully, just this once.
Stars Hrithik Roshan, Abhay Deol and Farhan Akhtar.

7. Dear Zindagi

Dear Zindagi got a lot of mixed reviews from the crowd. People from my age group loved it because they understood the mindset and concept behind the movie; Whereas most of the people from our parents generations found it slow or boring or silly.
This movie targets a lot of different things; Some things being, that going to a therapist doesn’t mean that you’re “crazy” or “mentally ill”, that having a lot of boyfriends doesn’t make you easy or a slut, that you don’t need the acceptance of people to live you life..

But most importantly, that you need to love yourself and accept yourself, as however you are. Because everyone is perfect in their own way!
The film features Alia Bhatt as the lead role, and Shah Rukh Khan as a supporting actor.

8. Iqbal

I don’t really watch cricket or any other sport for that matter, but I do love watch movies based on an immense passion for sport. I’m sure you guys must’ve heard about M.S Dhoni – The Untold Story and Sachin – A Billion Dreams, I loved watching those!
But the movie that struck me the most about sports was Iqbal.

The movie is about a a cricket-obsessed deaf and mute boy from a remote Indian village, as he aims to overcome his difficulties to become a cricketer and fulfil his dream of playing for the Indian National Cricket Team.
The story really stresses on the fact that even if you are specially abled, there’s nothing that can stop you from pursuing your dreams if you work hard! It truly is an inspiring and a really moving piece of work.

Directed in 2005, stars Shreyas Talpade and Naseeruddin Shah as lead roles.

9. Marley and Me

Okay, so if you’re a dog lover, you should definitely watch this movie! Especially if you have medium – large dogs like Labradors, Golden Retrievers, those sort of breeds!
The movie’s all about a mischievous Lab called Marley and all his
You’ll cry, no, actually, ball like a baby when you come towards the end but otherwise it’s a really fun and entertaining movie.

10. Pretty Woman

Coming on to the final movie of this post..
I’m a sucker for romantic comedies and Pretty Woman is hands down my most favourite from this genre.
The movie was directed by Garry Marshall in 1990. The film stars Richard Gere and Julia Roberts as lead roles. Its story centers on down-on-her-luck Hollywood hooker Vivian Ward, who is hired by Edward Lewis, a wealthy businessman, to be his escort for several business and social functions, and their developing relationship over the course of her week-long stay with him.
It’s truly an adorable movie and all the girls reading this post should surely go and watch it because there’s a surprise for you guys in the movie!
